Be A DJ For A Day is an immersive, hands-on experience that puts you behind the turntables with Grammy Award winner and professional DJ Burt Blackarach. Designed for complete beginners, music lovers, families, friends, corporate teams, and anyone who’s ever dreamed of being a DJ, you’ll learn the fundamentals of DJing—from working with vinyl and turntables to cueing, scratching, and developing your own style.
Created in 2016 and made popular through Airbnb Experiences, Be A DJ For A Day has welcomed guests from around the world and has been selected for major global experiences surrounding the Olympics and FIFA.
No experience necessary. Just bring your love of music, step behind the decks, and discover what it feels like to be the DJ.

Burt was such an amazing teacher during our DJ lesson! He was so passionate about music and DJing, and I came out of our session with so much knowledge about spinning records and DJ equipment too! I’m a beginner, but Burt made us feel so comfortable, explained everything really well, and made sure we got the concepts before moving on to the next one. Of all the activities I’ve done when visiting California, this was one of the absolute best experiences, and I absolutely recommend it to anyone interested in learning how to DJ!
